I just want to share a quick story with y’all about how funny and personal our God is.

Earlier this week I had a conversation with someone that left me feeling a bit heavy. I couldn’t quite get rid of the feeling, so I texted my mentor for some prayer. These were my words: “…I just typed some things out to try to shake it off, but it’s sticking around so I’m gonna worship for a bit, but could you pray as well?”

I pulled up one of my current favorite songs on Spotify, So Will I by Hillsong United, and worshipped. Then a sort-of-familiar-but-out-of-place song started playing. I looked over at the playlist, and it was Shake It Off by Taylor Swift.

You guys. This playlist only had songs from Hillsong’s Wonder album, and of all the random songs in the world, Shake It Off is the only other song added?! That is not a coincidence.

So I’m laughing as I continue listening to the song, but my laughter turned to tears when she sang “I got this music in my mind saying it’s gonna be alright.”

Wow Jesus, way to be creative in how you speak to me. I was just in awe of how the Lord can literally use anything to speak to us, even a pop song that I don’t even like that much.

He said to me, “See Rae, I hear you. I know what you’re going through. And it’s gonna be alright. Just shake it off.”

*CRYING*

So I just want to encourage you in the fact that God sees you. He hears you. He cares about you. He wants you to know that it’s gonna be alright. So Shake It Off (literally or metaphorically, you choose).

I am still in the process of raising support for my job here at Adventures in Missions! I’m looking for $350 more in monthly support, but I have a financial benchmark coming up in a week.

This is where special donations are a huge blessing! I am about $175 short of my goal due March 1st (one week from today!), and $525 short of my goal due April 1st. If you are not in a place to donate monthly, would you consider making a special donation of any amount to help me reach these goals? Just click the “Donate” link at the top of the page. $1, $10, $100, it all makes a difference!

If you are someone who would like to help me meet the $350 more in monthly donations, you can also click the “Donate” link at the top of the page. Just choose “Monthly” instead of “One-time”!

Thank you all for your love and encouragement!
